Year 7 Soccer

The Year 7 boys’ soccer team progressed to the next stage and played in the Regional finals. The boys played with a lot of spirit, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Unfortunately we didn't make it through to the next round as a team, we gained a lot of experience and I'm sure we will be better for it next year. I was so impressed by every single student's performance

Regional Athletics

On Wednesday the 4th of September five of our most athletically talented students represented not only our College, but all of the Woodlands district, at the Northern Metro Regional Athletics Carnival. These students earned the right to compete after winning their respective events at the Woodlands District Athletics Carnival earlier in the term.

It was great event with many talented athletes from across all the northern suburbs of Melbourne competing on the day. Just being able to compete in this event is a huge accomplishment, so I congratulate all the boys who represented Sirius College in the event.

A further congratulations must go to the two students who medalled on the day:

Baran Bektas came third in the under 14s shot put. While Rizin Sharafuddeen finished third in the under 16 100m and 200m sprint events. Rizin did not only go well in the sprinting, but in fact won the under 16 long jump event. This result means he will be going to the state competition in term 4 where he will compete against the best school age athletes in Victoria. A tremendous achievement. Well done Rizin!

The students who represented the College on the day:

Hassan Ali Shahid 7C, Baran Bektas 8A, Omar Moustafa 8A, Luay Moghneih 9B, and Rizin Sharafuddeen 10A.
